Between Blues is an abstract artwork inspired by the quiet shifts I see between sea, sky and changing light. I wanted to capture the feeling of being surrounded by blue without making the painting feel cold, so I worked with layers of cobalt blue, clear sky blue, soft grey and white, allowing the colors to meet, separate and move across the surface.

When I created the original painting, I worked intuitively with color, texture and organic brushstrokes. Some areas feel calm and open, while others are more expressive and energetic. That contrast is what gave the work its name: it lives somewhere between different shades of blue, between stillness and movement, and between the familiar and the unexpected.

I created Between Blues for anyone who loves colorful abstract art but also wants a piece that feels balanced and easy to live with. The blue, white and grey palette can bring a fresh, contemporary feeling to a living room, bedroom, hallway, home office or creative space. I especially love it in Scandinavian, minimalist, coastal and eclectic interiors, where it can work as both a calm focal point and a bold splash of color.

This canvas print is reproduced from my original painting on a premium 300–350 gsm cotton-polyester canvas blend, bringing out the depth, expressive brushwork and rich blue tones of the artwork. The canvas is wrapped around responsibly sourced FSC-certified wooden stretcher bars for a clean, gallery-style finish.

It is available in slim 2 cm and thick 4 cm wrapped options, with a hanging kit included. Because the composition is abstract, it can be displayed either vertically or horizontally, depending on your wall and the feeling you want to create in the room.
